Why is my baby’s eczema causing yellowing of the skin?

My baby always gets an eczema rash in the same spot on her forehead. The doctor prescribes cortisone cream which I use and right now the rash is cleared up but the spot where the rash usually is is yellowish. Anyone else have this happen?

It’s oxidation of the cream you use. That happens.
Is the yellowish area waxy looking? It might be cradle cap. That’s harmless and treatable with baby oil.
If it’s just a yellow spot, then you might want to keep an eye on her. Make sure the whites of her eyes aren’t turning yellow. If they are- she might be slightly jaundiced (body is having trouble breaking down old blood cells) and need a little bit of medical treatment.
cortizone cream should not be used on the face, it causes skin discoloration that does not always go away. your doctor should of told you that and i dont know why he would prescribe it for her face. i would call your doc and tell them that you need something else. that might not go away. if you want verification on this call the pharmacy and talk to a pharmacist. they know more about the drugs than the doctors do sometimes.
