What works best for baby eczema?

My 8 month old son has eczema on the back of both arms & the top of both legs! What works the best in soothing/healing eczema? I’ve been using baby Aveeno cream, but I thought there might be something better out there!

My son’s doctor didn’t want to prescribe him Hydrocortizone cream although it will clear it up, he’s only 5 1/2 months old and with Eczema it will come and go a lot, so it’s defineatly not good to use Hydrocortizone cream on babies that young because of the repeated usage of it (its a steroid).
But the doctor told me to rub olive oil on where ever it’s at, so I’ve been doing that for about a half a week and it’s clearing up already! You can also give him children’s liquid benedrel every 6 hrs as needed for the itching. You can call your doctor if you want them to figure out a correct dosage to give your son (since the box says consult a doctor for under 2 years old or something like that) they told me 0.4cc for my son.
Well hope this helps, it helped me with my son’s Eczema!
Good Luck!
My son’s pediatrician prescribed him Hydrocortizone cream and Baby Eucerin Aquaphor. They both work great. He’s five months old. I’d ask your son’s doctor about getting those prescriptions.
They have a baby aveeno cream that is for eczema care. Maybe this is the one you are already using. Often eczema is a sign of an allergy. Maybe get him tested when he is older. My son has had eczema since he was born. He is almost 2 now and the only thing that has worked was the perscription cream his doc gave me. We are getting him tested shortly after his second birthday. Where I live they have to be 2 to get tested.
I used to get it really bad, and my mom used to lather me up with Crisco.
But I think Aquaphor works just fine. Also Aveeno has an Eczema bath that seems to work well, and it helps with the itching.
Also, could your son have an allergy that causes it? Milk has always made me break out, I still have trouble with it as an adult. I had to get steroid cream at one point.
I have tried everything for my son who gets it bad on his back (he is almost 20 months now) Aveeno doesn’t work(I have it in oatmeal bath and cream). His Dr. said cordizone but that doesn’t help either. There are Rx creams that will clear it up really quick but it will come back. I wish I knew because it looks bad. But I heard it tends to go away when they are like 2. That’s just my personal story hope you find something that works. Im going to try goldbond next. Good luck
I have had eczema since I was 3 and I have always used baby aquaphor (even though I’m not a baby ha ha). It works great for me, so I assume it would work well for your son..
If he has it really bad then I would ask his doctor about getting something prescribed. The prescription creams I have used are elidel and triamcinolone. I don’t know if those would be the exact things that a doctor would prescribe for an 8 month old though because they are very high in steroids.
One way to help the eczema is to make sure he is dried off immediately after a bath, and then put some normal lotion on his skin (such as baby lotion). Do not let water sit on his skin for too long because it will irritate the eczema.
Hope I helped a little!
