What over the counter medicine is recommended for eczema?

My 6 year old son’s eczema is driving him crazy and he is out of his Protopic cream. His doctor’s office is closed for the weekend until Tuesday, but really needs something until then or longer. What can I get for him?

My daughter has Eczema and the RX creams never really helped at all. We tried EVERYTHING and the thing that helped so much was Aquaphor. Made by Eucerin. Udder Cream is great too. I swear Aquaphor fixes everything!!

I would go to your local pharmacy and get a nonprescription corticosteroid cream or ointment to reduce inflammation. The pharmacist could help ypu pick out the best.
I have had eczema for over 30 years & have found that if it is only a light flare up Vaseline does the trick (a generic form of Vaseline won’t work). For the more severe times I rub a light coating of Eucerin moisturizing creme & then before bedtime I use Hydrocortisone (1% or less) creme. Over the years these 3 items have saved me literally hundreds of dollars. Hope this helps!
