What is this weird liquid coming out of my skin? (Eczema related)?

I have eczema, and its been the most extreme on my legs for the past couple of months.
When I scratch my legs, a weird liquid oozes from my skin. I don’t even have an open wound or open sores. It’s not blood, and it’s not puss. It looks clear and basically looks like water. It feels a little sticky and has its own smell too.
What exactly is this? Can someone please help me? Thank you all.

It is called serum. It is the liquid part of the blood that takes all blood cells along to do their jobs. In the case of your situation.. the red blood cells are not making it through the skin, so you aren’t bleeding red.. but there is enough surface irritation that the serum escapes. This is to provide a covering for your wounds and allow other types of cells to move in and take care of infection, dead cells, etc.
