"Ivy’s Having Twins" really has no clue what she is talking about.
What Is Eczema?
Eczema (pronounced: ek-zeh-ma) is a group of skin conditions that cause skin to become red, irritated, itchy, and sometimes develop small, fluid-filled bumps that become moist and ooze.
There are many forms of eczema, but atopic (pronounced: ay-tah-pik) eczema is one of the most common and severe. Doctors don’t know exactly what causes atopic eczema, also called atopic dermatitis (pronounced: der-muh-tie-tis), but they think it could be a difference in the way a person’s immune system reacts to things. Skin allergies may be involved in some forms of eczema.
My son battled eczema for the first 4 1/2 months of his life until his doctors realized he was allergic to dairy. Milk CAN CAUSE ECZEMA if your child is allergic to it. And that does NOT mean they are allergic to breastmilk. Once my doctors figured this out, and I avoided dairy in MY DIET, his skin cleared right up.
However, babies with allergies have skin that flares up very easily. We were told to use Dove nonscented body wash, and within 5 minutes of getting him out of his bath to use Aveeno Baby Cream on him. That way you lock in the moisture. Also, try not to bathe him more than once a week, as it does dry out their skin and make the eczema worse (recommendation from my doctor).
Good luck, eczema is a pain!!!
start treating the eczema -avoid all cow’s milk products, keep a food diary, and see an allergist. a dermatologist can help you find products that will ease the pain & help heal the skin.
My son has the same thing and I use Aveno baby it is unscented and has no alcohol in it! My sons pediatrician recommend it and I use the lotion also and he hasn’t had an outbreak since we started using it! The Pediatrician said all the doctors are recommending it because it doesn’t dry out their skin, like Johnson baby does!
Baby Aveno
You could try no shampoo, maybe the shampoo is making it worse.
Here is a cosmetics safety database that will tell you all about the ingredients in shampoo. I have it linking to the baby shampoo and you can search for your shampoo to see if it has irritants.

My daughter had eczema and I used Desitin, the diaper rash stuff (among other things). It went away when I started using Rice Dream rice milk, I don’t know if the Rice Dream rice milk helped it or if it just was a coincidence, but the milk has B12 and sometimes eczema can be caused by a B12 deficiency.
Good Luck!
There is one you can buy at any store, Target Walmart Walgreens, and it has the picture of pooh and friends on it. Comes in a greenish bottle.
Also do not wash your baby’s skin every day. That makes ezcema worse, you want your babies natural oils to keep the skin hydrated
I nannied a baby with eczema, and Aveeno was very good. It is less drying, and great for sensitive skin. Also tear-free of course. Then use moisturizer from a tub once they are done with the bath. Moisturizers in tubs are thicker than the ones in bottles, and work better.
Children with eczema do not need to avoid milk. Acidic and spicy foods will likely cause flare-ups, as will anything they are allergic to, but milk is only slightly alkaline. Also babies are not generally lactose intolerant. And if they are they also can’t tolerate breastmilk. Later in life many people (esp. not so many caucasians, but other races) become lactose intolerant, but it is rare in babies. And lactose intolerance does not generally cause an eczema flare-up.
