Eczema Symptoms, Causes & Treatment
Eczema is a genetic disease, it is passed down through the genes. Once you have it , its for life but it generally gets better once you hit puberty.
The disease can flare up due to temperature or humidity changes .
eczema is caused by iching in 1 place and in a month if it’s on your lips and u eat pizza it’s gonna sting
Um… No. Exzema is a skin cndition passed down to people genetecially. Several things can trigger exzama, and it can happen in winter to, it simply depends n the way yours works.
Exzama is bascially a genetically caused chronic rash.
That basically means, you get rashes alot, very itchy red rashes, triggered by many things, but CAUSED by exzama.
it comes from an allergic reaction to a variety of things – it could be an allergic reaction to detergent or fragrance or environment (pollen, dust, mold), or pets. the rash comes from you scratching as a result of being exposed to whatever it is you are allergic to. you could get a allergy test to determine what causes your break-out.
What eczema is …
Eczema is a general skin term used to describe a variety of rashes where the skin may be itchy, red & inflamed, weepy or blistering, dry, scaly and thickened. One very common example is allergic contact dermatitis. Categorized as an overactive immune system disorder, eczema affects up to 20% of the world’s population (about 1 billion people), and it is not contagious.
Although eczema can develop any place on the body, it typically appears on the hands, wrists, arms, neck, upper chest, face and backs of knees. The worst symptom for many is the intense itch which leads to the itch/scratch cycle: you itch and you scratch … further damaging the skin and thus causing more itching. Emotional stress can provoke it as well as internal and external chemical sensitivities and allergies.
The skin is supposed to be slightly acidic which protects us from harmful bacteria, but most people use alkaline soaps that destroy the skin’s acid mantle and remove much needed moisture. Use pH balanced non-soap cleansers. Soap residue left in clothes can also irritate.
Internally speaking, the skin is the largest eliminative organ. Cleaning the body on the inside by detoxifying can be very beneficial in reducing the allergic (atopic) component. Greens are one of the best ways to do that (juice, blend, drink and eat them). Drinking enough water to hydrate from within along with taking your good fats like fish, borage and flax oil, as well as glucosamine, will help the skin retain moisture. To rebuild the skin, you need protein/amino acids. Vitamins, minerals, enzymes for digestion and beneficial bacteria as well as maintaining your alkaline pH on the inside are all crucial, and there’s a whole world of information on the how’s and why’s of that.
Food allergies and certain foods such as wheat, gluten, dairy and nuts can trigger eczema outbreaks. Hydrochloric acid deficiencies may also be associated as well as overproduction of candida (yeast) and consequently leaky gut syndrome. Further, underproduction of the delta-6 desaturase enzyme and overproduction of delta-5 desaturase enzyme which are involved in inflammation may be a key factor.
In sum, nutrition, detoxification, anti-stress coping skills and external practices are all a part of healing eczema. The body is trying to tell you something, and it’s not just a defective on/off switch in the inflammatory cycle. Inflammation is the process that fights infection; and, if there is a bacterial or fungal overcolonization, steroids (which stop the inflammation process) may actually make the problem worse by allowing infection to run wild. Changing your body’s chemistry internally and externally to provide the proper environment for skin health can bring about a permanent change in this condition.
Dear Stephie
In answer to your medical question regarding the condition of Eczema, the cause of this medical condition is stated s follows:-
An inflammation of the skin, usually causing itching and sometimes accompanied by scaling or blisters. Some forms of eczema are better known as dermatitis ( such as seborrhoeic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and photodermatitis ). Exzema is sometimes caused by an allergy, but often occurs for no known reason.
I therefore trust that this answer’s your medical question.
my son has ecxema and he was born with this, there are numerous forms some that are triggered by allergy to certain foods and animals and the one which my son has which is etopic ecxema where the skin gets so hot that it blisters.he is actualy bandaged from top to toe at ,this very moment.if you have not yet been to see a dermatologist when you do they should tell you this if not dont be afraid to ask him or her
I have had eczema on the lower parts of my legs for about three years. Being an adult the doctor said I will most likely always have it. My doctor told me using a thick moisturizing cream such as CETAPHIL (found any where). Also gave me a prescription for VANOS(fluocinonide) cream. Other doctors have gave me other medicine, but none of it seems to work. It might get a little better, but never goes completely away. I wish I could help you more, but it seems I can’t help myself. Good Luck to you!
