What causes and cures annular lesions/eczema?

These things suddenly appeared out of nowhere on my girl friends legs and started off small and have grown and spread. We sleep together and I have not caught any of this stuff from her. What is it? How did she get it? What causes it and how do you treat it? We are very clean people. The house is spotless.

Annular lesions are seen in a ring shape. Tinea corporis, erythema migrans (the lesion associated with lyme disease), and granuloma annulare are three common examples.

From what I’ve read, you cannot "catch" eczema from someone. It is hereditary……and outbreaks can be brought on by stress and illness…or for no reason at all. A topical steroid creme can provide some relief and can help to clear up eczema spots. Mine come and go at will. I have had steroid injections directly into the spots on my legs but they did not help much. I find that just keeping them moisturized with a non-perfume lotion like cetyphyl (available at walmart and drugstores) and cortizone creme does about as much good as anything.
