What are the symptoms of having a gluten intolerance?

My doctor says that such an intolerance does not exist. I have eczema, digesting problems and my skin breaks out in rashes a lot. How do I find out if I have an intolerance?

You have the symptoms of either or both celiac disease and/or dermititis herpetiformis which are both gluten intolerance conditions. There is also something called non celiac gluten intolerance where the person tests negative for celiac disease but feels better on a gluten free diet. So the first thing to do is see about a new doctor. Keep eating gluten containing foods right now until you get tested. Look at the support groups in http://www.csaceliacs.org and find one close to you and see if they know of a doctor that works with them. That would be the first step. Then get tested, and after the tests, go on a gluten free diet to see if the symptoms go away. If the tests are positive, then a gluten free diet should see everything clear up.
go to a different doctor
definitly go to a different doctor.
you could also try cutting out all wheat and grain (barley, oats) of your diet for a week or two and see if you notice any difference.
when i eat wheat, i have memory problems, digesting problems and i get very tired.
I suggest going to a different doctor. You obviously have a problem.
