My son is almost 3. He’s always had REALLY good skin – beautifully soft and clear and he’s never had nappy rash.
The last few months he’s started getting patches of dry skin on his cheeks which are red and I can’t get rid of them. I’ve also noticed another patch on his leg.
The patches don’t seem to be itchy.
Is this eczema or just dry skin? Nothing has really changed with his diet etc and we have no eczema or allergies on either side of the family.
What can I do to improve his skin?

Condition exists on the ring and small fingers of my right hand. Currently using a combination of Aquaphor and Eucerin, which I normally apply before bed each night. (Once tried a topical corticosteroid cream prescribed by my dermatologist, which had minimal effect.) Not sure if this is the optimal over-the-counter solution. Thoughts? Thanks.

You know. the creams and lotions to relieve eczema and some other skin conditions. Anyways what medication have you used, and for how long? How old were you at the time you used it? Especially if you used it for 2years plus let me know have you noticed any side affects. People please answer, or get someone you know who falls in any of these categories to answer. I would appreciate it so much.

I have a terrible skin condition which causes irritation and itching on the skin, i only get it on my torso and i was just looking for some ideas to get rid of it faster, it goes away after a few days with medication but i am sick of taking it, and now i have the eczema again (for some reason i only get it in spring, i live in Australia if you’re confused…spring u no?) so if you could help that would be wonderful!!!

i have eczema and i’ve tried a lot of different treatments but most of them don’t seem to work, the only thing that usually works are topical steriods, but the symptoms always reappear within not much time. i don’t like using topical steriods all the time because of the long term side effects i’ve read about, i was wondering whether anyone out there has had any success with an alternative treatment.

I have had some eczema patches for several months. It has gotten a lot better but now there is skin discoloration and slight scarring – anything make this better?

I have had this problem since I was very young. On my right hand there is very thick dry skin on my little finger and ring finger, which used to be painful and split when I was little. The rest of my right hand also gets very dry sometimes.
My little finger and ring finger are also bigger on my right hand than the fingers on my left. They seem to be swollen, but I think the bones are bigger. Even the nail of the little finger is bigger.
The hairs on my right hand grows thicker than it does on my left hand, which is very strange.
Also, my ring finger on the right is misshapen and the joint closest to the nail is very stiff. I think I’ve had this since I was born.
I only have these problems on my right hand, my left is normal. I know these are not all skin problems but I always thought the dry skin was eczema. Could it have affected the growth of the fingers and even the hairs on my hands?
I have never met anyone with this problem before so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have pretty bad eczema sometimes. It’s basically a bad irritated skin rash. I have prescribed medicinal cream (mometasone I think) but it’s in a very small jar and isn’t meant to be used much – even on large rashes. I also have a really good natural moisturizer (Glysomed) and I really recommend that for dry, cracked skin but it doesn’t do much on my eczema and I have it pretty bad but not enough to break out the medicine. So got any tips or homemade recipes to cure eczema? Anything will help thanks I don’t think I can stand the itching any longer!
