My 4 month old has eczema, and now seems like she has hives, we have cats could she be allergic?
At a month old my daughter started getting a rash on her face, which her doctor put off as cradle cap. Although I knew it was eczema, she didn’t listen. Eczema runs in my family, and it had always started on the face after birth.

In the last month it got a lot worse and is on her elbows and top of her back, also her wrists. In the last 2 weeks I have noticed blotches like circles on her arms and back and a few on her chest. It looks like hives to me. We have 2 adult cats, and 3 kittens because my female was pregnant. We just recently in the last couple weeks had to separate the cats from the kittens so they would stop nursing. Which seems like when it all started. They all have dark fur. And when we go out it seems like her hives clear up a bit.
her symptoms as it seems
~Hives
~ Sneezing runny nose (clear mucous)
~ Itching eyes/ nose
~ red watery eyes

I just wanted to add that Im breastfeeding. I also keep track of the foods I eat and how they effect her.
I am working it getting rid of them now as we speak. Im trying not to send them to a shelter. But Within this week I will have too. Im trying not to wait because asthma runs in my family.
I already did the eliminating Milk from my diet, and nothing changed. I have tried everything. Which is why I feel she has a cat allergy.

How many people in the US have Eczema?

And do you think selling eczema treatment cream is a profitable business? I discovered a cream that really works but is not available in the US.

I need some help and advice please. My 14 mo old daughter just had a blood test (RAST) and the nurse just called and told me she tested positive for everything they tested her and that the levels are high. We have an appointment with the allergist to discuss the details. While I wait for the appointment, I would like to hear from other moms about their experiences.

My daughter has had eczema since she was 2 mo old. We keep up a strict skin care regime for her along with all the other recommended eczema care. She has a prescription for a corticosteroid that we use as and when needed to get her eczema under control.

She was exclusively breast-fed for the first 7 months and since then heavily breast-fed along with some solids. I have not given her any possible allergens except wheat to which she has not exhibited any specific reaction. I haven’t given her eggs, fish, diary, formula, nuts. She has had traces of diary in food items and we have not noticed a reaction.

When she was around 6-7 mo and exclusively breastfed, I had tried elimination diets by eliminating possible allergens from my diet. I ate only rice and vegetables for 2+ months but we didnt notice any change with my daughter’s eczema. I started eating everything as before and again we didnt notice any considerable differences.

Also thankfully, we have not noticed any other reactions in her other than the eczema. No diarrhea, no bloody or mucusy stools, no throwing up or wheezing. She gets colds and nasal congestion from time to time that lasts long. But I wouldn’t think it is associated to food allergies.

So here I am wondering about the nurse’s comment "Your daughter tested positive for everything possible in the list and the levels are high". The test was just for food items.

While I wait to see the allergist, I would highly appreciate if you could share your experiences.

1. Did your toddler tested high for food allergies but had no symptoms other than eczema? (Though I wonder if the eczema was food related, why the elimination diet at 7 mo did not work)

2. Would it be because I haven’t offered many of the allergens to her anyways? (I have given her wheat – no reaction. Dairy – only traces). If the levels were high, wouldn’t she react even with traces?

3. Does allergies indicate that the kid is less healthy than her peers with no allergies or eczema?

4. Will they outgrow the allergies as they grow up? Or is it more likely that they keep developing new allergies?

NOTE – Family history of allergies – There is absolutely no history of allergy on my side. The father has dust and aspirin allergy. No food allergies though. Father has sensitive skin too (but nothing like eczema skin or anything)

Please provide your inputs/insights. Thanks!

Good Eczema Remedies?

I live with Eczema, 24/7. I was born with it. I need a remedy, it is almost picture day and I got it on my upper lip, and my arms. Every also thinks I have Poison Ivy. (I don’t have acne, so face remedies that may cause it are fine!)
I have it severely,

I cant find any information that explains about the function of how the skin gets red. For example skin gets red with seb derm but is it blood vessels that cause this redness?

6 month old has eczema…pl help?

my son started getting some symptoms of baby eczema after his ears were pierced from the 12th day after his birth. ear piercing is a ritual in Brahmins.it started getting worst day by day and was infected. doc first thot it to be milia and then came to conclusion of it being baby eczema prescribed hydrocortisone 1% cream which cleared my sons skin cmpletely. the rashes started playing a hide and seek. i don use the cream on him much. i use cetaphil lotion after giving him a warm bath. his condition is improving… his left cheek flares up but the right cheek is fine even if some redness appears on right cheek it goes off on the next day by itself… but left cheek still is red and rough red rashes are there which sometimes look like wet. the left earlobe is infected too.could it be any kind of allergy? many people whom saw my son said their child had the same thing and it vanished by itself.. some in six months some in a year and never came back again. when they say that i really feel relieved but sometimes it bothers me.. do u recommend a allergy test? he is b negative blood group and me , his mom b positive group. does tht effect? its really improving on its own. the right cheek is clear since a month from now.He is very active in all ways and gets a good sleep. there is absolutely no itching for the eczema. he does scratch his ears when he is bored and sleepy..pl help. do i need to take him on medications? or will it truly vanish by itself?????
