My 2 month old baby boy has red flaky itchy rash on his cheeks. Eczema?

He started to have this symptom when he was only a month old and he has it all the time now at 2 and a half month old.
My pediatrician wasn’t sure and I did some research on the internet and I think it is "infant eczema".
What are some good things to try on his cheeks to help relieve the itch?
Also what would happen if we leave it alone? Will he get a facial scar when he’s an adult?

It could eventually cause scars, yes, but usually when it itches enough that the baby/person scratches it. That’s what normally causes the scars.
Try an over-the-counter rich infant eczema lotion first. If it does the job, great. If not, ask your pediatrician for something stronger to treat it. Probably the OTC stuff will at least help if not cure it completely.
Call him back up and ask what the treatment is, he is an idiot for letting you guess.
My son who is 4 ½ months old has this. I took him to the doctor and they prescribed him a cream. It seems to be working for the time being.
Leave it alone and get a consult for a dermatologist. Don’t try to diagnose anything yourself and don’t put anything on it until her sees the dermatologist and do what they recommend. Whatever it is it’s not going to scar unless it’s traumatized by mis-treatments.
My nephew has eczema and the pediatrician recommended switching to dove sensitive soap and using Eucerin Aquaphor ointment all over in place of lotion. It has made all the difference! He rarely has break outs anymore and his skin is no longer so scaly. My niece his sister has it also but only breaks out when she is stressed or sick and it’s only ever on her face. My nephew does have scars from his eczema (his parents left it be for nearly three years until they were taken by CPS and given to my mom in law who took him to the pediatrician right away). I would recommend picking up some Aquaphor and putting just a tad on his cheeks every time you change his diaper (it’s a great diaper cream too). I did this with my daughter when her cheeks would get dried out in the winter. It WILL NOT make your child oily or break out even though it does have a similar consistency to vaseline. It’s an excellent product and available at most stores right by the baby lotions and Vaseline.
It sounds like excema. My son had it and his started at about the same age. It got so bad, he had to be sent to a dermatologist who prescribed the strongest hydro-cortisone treatment available (withing 3 days, it was gone though needs the occasional application). I was able to keep it at bay somewhat with Lalabees Baby butter (a natural, organic balm) and it reduced the itch but it needed medical treatment. I used a natural soap as well which does not contain any chemicals (anything Johnson and Johnson is poison, don’t use it). Ask for a dermatologist consult as left untreated, he will scratch himself raw which can lead to scarring. Best wishes!
to stop the itch, look at Salcura Dermaspray Gentle
it worked for our son, stopped the itch in under a minute and the rash inflammation healed rapidly as well.
