my daughter had it really bad. she scratched herself. pulled her hair out etc. this is what helped my daughter.
you can give a bath everyday if needed, but only use soap every other day. there is a body wash and lotion from gental naturals that helped.
http://www.gentlenaturals.com/products/eczema_wash.php
it is a little greasy but it worked better than everything else i used. cut out all frangrances and lotions when handling the baby. if u smoke dont around the baby or touch her without washing hands.

in the end i had to get triamcinolone acetonide ointment prescribed from her doctor. she is two now. it isnt nearly as bad but i still have to use it.
during the summer use a wet paper towel to wipe sweat away from underarms, behind the knees, and anywhere else it sits, this helps to.
it is horrible feeling like you cant help them. i wish her the best!

My daughter is still fighting it..it takes a lot of care. Oatmeal baths, aveeno baby, and cortaid. Thats how we got it under control. But we continue to struggle with it. And just keep those nails cut and away from her face. Mittens..whatever it takes. I even put little socks on her hands cuz the mittens would fly right off.

Aquaphor(sp?) Lotion
Use cheer free laundry detergent and just water in the bath. When she is old enough, a tiny bit of hydrocortizone cream could help.
And Eucerin(sp?) Cream works also.
I've had 2 grandaughter's with it. :( .
They seemed to get a little better in the summer and then worse in the winter.
(Tehnew baby has it, Aquaphor lotion(cream?) works pretty well.)

Formula has nothing to do with it!! Im a mom of two young children and they BOTH have severe eczema. Funny enough they're not allergic to any food, not even peanuts!
SO having said that, they use a special cream because nothing else worked. They're on Glaxall base -which is non medicinal cream just very moisturizing and resistant to the everyday wearing and hand washing. Best advice take that baby to the doctor and he'll be able to tell them what kind of Eczema she's got and what's the best treatment for her.
When my kids skin gets in really bad shape I have to use a Cream with Cortisone, the Aveeno lotion doesnt do anything for them.
As for Formula it has nothing to do, eczema has to flare up at some point, it also coincides with stress and illnesses-when my kids get sick their skin gets dry and itchy.
