Is it normal to get eczema on your breasts?
I have eczema and it gets really bad.
Lately I’ve been getting red spot/scabs (similar to the eczema that i have on my hands, arms, elbows and behind my knees) across my chest. It gets much itchier than the rest (and I can’t itch it in public at all) and my cream does nothing for it. My Mam said that I should just persevere with it, but I’m not sure.
Has anyone else ever got it on their boobs or is this something else? Should I go see my doctor?
Thanks.

As has been said, eczema can occur anywhere on the body.
You might want to try and see if the condition improves with different bra brands though as the textile formulations may vary. Also make sure that when your bras are washed that a non-biological washing powder is used as enzyme residues in clothes are proven to aggravate eczema in some users. Similarly, some sufferers find relief by avoiding the use of fabric conditioners when laundering clothes.
If you’re able to, you may also find that avoiding bras altogether may improve things.
If the eczema looks and feels like eczema elsewhere on your body, then it most likely is simple eczema, but if you’re worried there’s no harm in seeing your doctor anyway.
Never heard of that before but I guess you can get eczema anywhere. I really think you should see your Dr – wouldn’t it be nice to get rid of the itching? Good luck.
You don’t need to see your doctor… only if it gets really bad!
I get pretty bad eczema too but not normally on my chest! I have had the odd patches every now and again.
You need to find a more greasy ointment to put on it if it is really dry… something like hydrochortisin ointment.
Just try not to stratch…. you’ll only make it worse!
I have never heard of getting eczema on breasts but that does not mean to say it is not normal. If it would help you feel better them I suggest you do go and see your doctor because they know more about illness, skin conditions etc them I do. Also seeing something makes it easier to say what it is them something which is described to you over the Internet.
you should see your doctor
hi there i just went recently to the docs about eczema on my nipples its ok so dont worry about it go and get stronger creme
i think eczema can occur anywhere on the body. some things may trigger areas of the skin off like maybe certain fabrics or washing powders. i used to have eczema on my breast even around the nipple. im not sure what it was but it seemed to clear up on its own i did use my exczema cream on it. maybe seek medical advice just 2 be on the safe side. i no how uncomfortable it can be. mine drove me mad!!! : )
