The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and milk products which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I've turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aim at the root of the disease - the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 2 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with anti-eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.

There are lots of creams you can get over the counter.
Best to go to the pharmacist and ask for advice as a pharmacist is trained to help and is inexpensive way to get help. Your there so you can show the problem., much cheaper then a dermatologist. because this is free professional advice. I suffered from this condition for 20 years until I decided to find the underlying cause. I was finally able to get rid of using expensive creams, some of which had harmful steroids. Your body can actually get used to these types of creams and gradually has no effect.
Personally a natural cure is best, thats what worked for me after 20 years of suffering. This lady had the same problem and cured the condition in 10 days http://tinyurl.com/pchjtu
