How do you convince your parents that steroid creams don't work for eczema?
I have hand eczema for like 7 months know. And they want me to pt steroid on my hands and than if I don’t they say it’s all my fault I have eczema. Yea like I wanted it…anyways. I did try steroid cream before and it just made me itch and i scratched myself raw lol. But I did my research and steroid creams are not even good for you. They can get rid of symptoms but not get rid of the cause. And whats the point of using steroids if ur body will just depend on them? Once you stop it will just come back. And I told my parents I prefer natural methods they think it’s useless. I already know of some natural remedies.
-Apply coconut oil on skin for it’s moisturizing and healing properties.
-Eat lots of Olive oil food for moisturizing from within
-Make sure you have enough Vitamin D
-Take Omega 3 Oil capsules or Cod Liver capsules
-Lavender oil can be an anti septic/anti bacterial/ anti fungal and anti inflammatory and de stressor
-Oatmeal can soothe your eczema
-Dead Sea mud or salt scrubs can also help I’m not sure how though, something about it’s various minerals
-And generally don’t over wash hands, use harsh soaps, detergents etc…
I do use some of these methods but not always but since I started using this cream on my hands made of lavender, chamomile, and cocoa butter my hand eczema has never been softer.
So how do you convince your parents all natural is better. I see results in my hands which my parents REFUSE to see. Plus they constantly stress me out but they don’t want to believe that my eczema is stress related. I am 70% sure that stress could have potentially awakened my eczema. I had extreme stress and breakdown a few days before I got my first eczema symptom.
It’s not fair for my parents to say I am my own worst doom or my eczema is my fault if I don’t want to put on steroids. I refuse. I like to believe their are better ways to do things. And I am never itchy when I do something fun but my parents constantly remind me every single day and minute that I have eczema. And are rude to me about it as well.
Plus one person told my parents that they put steroid on their kid and it healed doesn’t mean it works for everyone. Who knows how long it was for and doesn’t mean it will last. I think power of will and lifestyle can cure it. But I need to convince my parents. They always think the doctors right.

steroids make you more likely to contract other things. Look up the product and active ingredients for hazards associated.
The best eczema product I know is a British product named Salcura Dermaspray ( Gentle or Intensive) Salcura’s products are made of all natural ingredients and over the counter, stops the itch in seconds and heals any eczema outbreak and inflamed skin rapidly. It’s also not messy at all, not greasy, it absorbs quickly into the skin. The more our child has used it the less often we need to apply it, unless he has an eczema flare up. We sprayed him four times a day at first, now it’s about one time every 3 days or longer, whenever we see him itch or have red skin.
We’ve used Salcura Gentle on our child since about his 8th or 9th month with dramatic success. It’s 10 times better than anything else we tried on our child. You’ll need to get it from a British website or pharmacy Chemist site, as it’s probably not available anywhere else. The last place I used was ExpressChemist ,which also has some great pictures and success stories on their website. There’s a few other places as well, check around for the best price and shipping, plus look at user reviews.
Our child had instant results with Salcura.
Other than that, you’ll need to find the triggers for the eczema and stay away from them.
