How do I get my daughters legs/skin to look better? Eczema- splotchy and dirty looking

She’s 2 yrs old and I sue Eucerin cream and over the counter hydro cortisone for her spots of eczema. Her legs look dry, splotchy and dirty all the time, even after a long bath with lots of scrubbing followed by creams. Her legs are much worse in the summer, because she wears shorts and the skin is exposed to plants that sometimes worsen the eczema. Any ideas of what may help?
use Eucerin cream- sorry

It’s such an active age, so it’s hard to keep your daughter from getting amongst plants that exacerbate the condition.
The first thing to do is try and pin down the cause of the eczema. It could be dietary, allergy, or idiopathic. You may even find that with time the eczema disappears entirely of its own volition.
First of all is the commonsense approach. Try hard to keep her away from the things that get the eczema to flare up. When that’s not possible, then try to keep her body covered. There are some light weight but long sleeves type clothing that can help.
After this, it may be necessary to seek advice from a specialist- a dermatologist, who will be really able to pin down the exact nature of the eczema.
i know what you mean, i also have a 2 year old and its not nice when everyone asks whats wrong with her. i went to the docs and got stornger creams for her becaause it was so bad. the stronger cream cleared it up a lot(almose all). but i have to not take her out too much because grass really sets her off (on her face). i also thought her to ask for cream when she feels itchy and keep a tub of cream in the fridge so it cools the skin as soon as i put it on. if she scratches a lot,and its getting bad, buy a top in a size or 2 bigger than she is a sew up the hand openings to let it clear up. and try different creams, you may have to find just the right one for her – fullers earth is very good and not overly oily (my daughter doesnt like to be sticky) also it may sound strange put find out the correct way to put the creams on – amount & direction to put on, i was doing it wrong for nearly a year. and it does get better in time my daughter is almost clear now.
Often children’s skincare products can contain unnecessary ingredients such as colors or fragrance. But also look out for harsh preservatives, like parabens, which can trigger an eczema flare-up.
I found a really useful site that lets you compare the ingredients of several leading childrens brands, its from a company called exederm
They make ultra hypoallergenic skin care products for kids with eczema or dermatitis
