Eczema…?

Hi, Im Trisha and im on my aunt’s account.
Im 13 and I have been diagnosed with Eczema.
As you probably know, my aunt is a doctor for 8+ years.
But, She is at work, and i haven’t had a chance to ask her what it is…and how to make it go away. Is it even eczema..how can I tell.
I havent seen her, and i was not diagnosed by her…it was at the same place she works…different dr.
Any advice.Thanks.

i have eczema!!
hi, i’m 12 and my name is holly. i’ve had it since i was about 7, my mom had it when she was a girl. i have it on the crease on my arm. it itches a lot and can get very irritated. my doctor has given me some creams to apply to the affected area that is supposed to help it go away. it works sometimes i guess….
my eczema comes and goes, for instance in the summer it is barely visible, however in the winter it gets very irritated since the air is dry and cold. just keep hangin on! it can b very annoying, but most of the time it goes away when ppl reach their late teens/early 20s.

heredity and genetics play a vital role in passing eczema from one generation to another. it may appear at some point in your lives especially when the immune system is low.
to avoid eczema flare ups there are lot of things to consider like:
* keeping fingernails trimmed
* using an all natural moisturizer throughout the day
* hydrating the skin by drinking loads of water
* avoiding foods that are processed and that have preservatives
* use natural fabrics that are soft
* avoid tight, rough and scratchy clothes
* do not sweat it, avoid activities that makes you sweat
* avoid temperatures that are extremely hot and cold
* avoid drastic change of weather
* try not to scratch the infected area
* watch and check out diet

i’ve had it my whole life. I use a lotion that has steroids in it called Topicort. Go to a dermatologist and they will prescribe you something. Mine usually gets worse in the winter time b/c the air is so dry and cold. I only get tiny patches near my elbows.. Unfortunately, normal store lotions never help.
When I was smaller and it was worse I used to take Oatmeal baths – it was something made by Aveeno, dont know if they still make it but it certainly made my skin feel better and not be so irratated.
What did your doctor tell you? Did he prescribe anything?
……btw, I am 27.
