Eczema………?

Ive had eczema since i was born. ive had it really bad for the last 4 years on and off, but never cleared up. i have used everthing the doctor has given me. such as moisturisers, steriod creams, steriod tablets, antibiotics and have had skin test patches to try and see what may be affecting the flare ups with no success.
I have heard that using a sunbed for a couple of minutes a day will help. does anyone know about using sunbeds for eczema.

uhhh no! my sister just used cortizon. she said that stuff worked for her..but i mean u could try the tanning bed. i mean it wont hurt to try it. or u can google it and see what it says.
I have eczema too and it can be very miserable. I haven’t used sun beds but I’ve heard that they don’t help alot. I guess each case is different so you will just have to see if it works for you.
i would think a sunbed would dry you out more!

hell, you’ve been through so much with it. why not try it with a doctors support at least once and see what happens.
sun rays affect seretonin and melatonin in the blood which are linked to hormones, mood and even natural pain killers
it makes sense that uv therapy might work!

um…. not sure on the logic behind that one. eczema sufferers tend to have dry skin to start with, so i fail to see how that would help. surely a sun bed would just aggravate the problem ? (i also suffer from eczema – but mine tends to be triggered by stress.)
my nephew has got bad eczema. after lots of tests he found out that it was aggravated by the hormones found in cows milk. he’s a lot better now that he’s on soya milk… worth a try ?
no i havent heard of using sunbeds but i have used some cream called Triamacelone and you have to get it its prescribed
Eczema is an inflammatory condition of the skin that most often caused by allergies but also can be a sign of liver disease. Eczema usually results from internal factors, such as the absorption of irritant chemicals, soaps, and shampoos, allergy to wheat (gluten), etc.
You may become allergic to products you have used for years. Therefore, a change to all natural products that do not contain synthetic chemicals may be helpful.
As described in the Essential Oils Desk Reference, essential oils, such as lavender, juniper, ledum, antioxidants and sulfur may be useful. I have had good experience using Sulfurzyme by Young Living.
Some report that a sun bed is beneficial for treatment of eczema. Ultraviolet light exposure carries its own risks, particularly eventual skin cancer from exposure.

I have eczema,none of the creams work on me…in fact they make it worse…there is one thing I’ve heard about recently it’s called Grape Root I think it’s a lotion…it works for Psoriasis and Eczema…so I’m going to give it a go…I’ve heard a sunbed can help,but there’s the skin cancer thing to contend with…give the Grape Root a try..I’m going to.

i never heard anything about sun beds. all i know is the product that most people seem to talk about many times in our neighborhood. they found out this site http://www.skinoriginal.com that helped them relieved their eczema as well as their child’s skin disease. try it out. it will not cost you a luxury. but it will give you lots of advantages.
Hi there,my eldest girl suffers badly with eczema and the only time she was clear of it was when we lived abroad in Saudi Arabia, where of course its hot all the time. So from our experience sunshine is the healer. She also went swimming every day.I think when your skin gets that bad you try anything.
Like somebody above said UV treatment for eczema works on the body’s hormone levels, which is one of the many possible causes for eczema.
Another thing you could try that balances your hormones is Evening Primrose Oil capsules. They should help, if only a little bit.
I’m a healthcare advisor for Boots and in my opinion, the most effective & reliable course of treatment, if managed religiously, is moisturising twice daily with an emollient (e.g. cetraben), using a urea-based cream after washing (e.g. eucerin), & once daily using a steroid cream from the doctor.
The trick is just keeping on top of it.
However in many cases it is caused by an allergy, a very common one being the house dust mite. So make sure you wet wipe all your surfaces, & vacuum carpets & bedding regularly. You might see an improvement there. If you feel it is an allergy you may aslo benefit from taking an antihistamine tablet.
