Hi Hun; Registered Nurse here; First of all there is no research to substantiate that tanning booths help clear eczema. If fact the jury is still out on this, but the latest is leaning towards tanning bed increasing outbreaks of eczema. Theory is that the skin is already stressed from this autoimmune disease and that further stresses such as tanning increasing the outbreaks. Eczema, as I’m sure you must know is difficult to treat, however here’s somethings that support helping in decreasing the outbreaks. Adequate rest, proper nutrition, exercises, maintaining a low stress level (sort of hard to do in the 21st century). Also hopefully you have a dermatologist for progress is being made everyday with medications and treatments that assist people with eczema.
Thanks for the opportunity to address your question. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I don’t know about a tanning bed but you can ask Miss Maryland about that. She was going 3 to 4 times a week, she became addicted to tanning so she kept going until one day, she discovered a small nodule under her chin. It turned out to be a carcinoma melanoma, one of the worst kinds of skin cancer from the ultra violet rays of the sun or a tanning booth. She underwent many surgeries and treatments to get a clean bill of health after five years. still want to treat your eczema or use a cream?
No, it won’t help. It may actually make it worse, because it dries your skin out, and eczema gets worse with dry skin.
In some cases light therapy is prescribed – but CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR. The tanning bed can be dangerous
