SURCARE, it’s specifically designed for people with eczema. I’ve had eczema my whole life and Surcare really helps. A lot of the specialist brands are very expensive but you can can this one at any UK Supermarket and it’s really cheap too. I used to use fairy non bio washing tabs. and comfort baby pure conditioner which were also alright. If you’re using a bio powder like daz or bold it will definitely aggravate eczema, and I’ve seen some of the best specialists in the country about it!
simple is good. or soap flakes. there are loads of laundry detergents in supermarkets that for ppl with skin conditions
A friend of mine has a similar problem and he said he uses something called Purell. He said they sell it at WalMart. His clothes are always so soft and smell great.
My son has it too.. I use anything that is labeled at FREE of dye and perfume.
I have also used Dreft the baby stuff but it can be pricey.
Here are some other things that have worked for us:
CETAPHIL- I use is religiously. It works wonders for my son’s skin- even mine too! It’s not greasy and works great
Dove soap for sensitive skin- it’s doesn’t contain any perfumes in it and it helps moisturize his skin
I use soap nuts natural laundry detergent. They actually grow on trees in India and Nepal. Within a month of beginning to use them, the eczema across my belly cleared right up. More information at http://www.buysoapnuts.com/Eczema-and-psoriasis.html. Also, if you use a 2" strip of aluminum foil in your dryer instead of bounce or downy, it gets rid of a lot of chemicals that can cause eczema.
I have had eczema for 4 years, after much investigation I have found Arm and Hammer Essentials. There is a specific one that is dermatologically tested for sensitive skin and free of perfumes and dyes. It doesnt cost anymore than a regular detergent and my clothes aren’t itchy anymore.
I can only use Fairy – both the detergent and the softener. I have eczema on my arms and legs, which are indeed seriously aggravated by the use of different washing powders. Fairy has been hypo-allergenic for me for the last five years, and helps no end at all.
Good luck with it – it’s a lengthy process of trial and error unfortunately.
any that is recommended for babies as it is non bio and gentle to the skin…you can also look on foreverliving.com, they supply a detergent which is completely natural and for those who are prone to skin complaints.
