I’m 15 years old. Around the age of 11, i developed what seemed to be a really bad case of dandruff. i tried everything but nothing worked. I also found that it would go off on its own once in a while (probably when stress leves decreased), so i finally gave up and decided i had to live with it.

Early this year, however, things got much worse. My scalp began to weep and we decided it was time we went to see a dermatologist. We saw two (one who happens to be the best in town), both of whom said it was either psoriasis or eczema (I’ll tell you later why i think its eczema). The second guy we saw, who is supposed to be the best prescribed several steroids and asked me to return in 2 weeks. I decided to give it a go but i soon found that all the steroids did was just suppress the inflammation. Even then, around day 10, the eczema became rather visible again. When we saw him again, he just prescribed another steroid and thats when we decided enough is enough. Psoriasis is supposed to be caused by a suppressed immune system and all these steroids were doing was further supressing my immune system. We then TOTALLY stopped the steroids and I’m now trying a more natural and organic way to cure it.

Of course after stopping the steroids just like that, all the infammation returned and it got quite bad. It then spread to my neck as well and I even have a little on my elbows and in my armpits now. These places indicate that its eczema. My mum did a lot of research and i’ve started taking antioxidants now and my body is responding rather well to them. I also have been putting organic virgin coconut oil on my head and neck every night and i wash it off the next day. But so far, there aren’t any signs of me recovering totally.

I have stopped taking prawns and anchovies which i used to eat around 4 to 5 times a week. we are gonna start buying chicken that aren’t commercially grown but are grown in nearby villages as they won’t have tonnes of hormones injected into them. I do not live in a cool area. In fact its hot and humid here throughout the year.

So thats basically my story. Please, please, please help me. If you know any natural ways to cure eczema please do share them with me. As a teenager I find it hard to go to school as people start to notice them on my neck and all. My self esteem has taken a tumble and i feel really down.
please help.

Is eczema like a permanent condition and to live with?

i seem to have it all on my upper arms and some on my chest , neck and back in little patches.

iv been to the doctor on numerous occsions but she just keeps tellin me to use e45 but its no good and doeant work
any suggestions on how i can treat this???

it leaves me very limited to what clothes i can wear when i go out because im very consious of it . im only 19

okay, so when i hit 11, my eczema was fading away, i didn’t have a problem with it. but now – its back! around 13, i started getting those rashes on problematic areas [arms creases? EW!] and now i have dryyyy parts of my neck and hand joints [above the opposite side of your palm facing hand/near wrist] AND a recent little rash broke out around my mouth! [to the left of my lip, a bit. It like, surrounds it.] [waterish-substance came out for a while]

HELP!
doctors give creams, which is bad for the skin.
i’ve tried honey suckle which is awesome, but dad got the vine cut down and salt water hurts [made water like substance come out?]
