I am 21, and when i tell people about my eczema they always say things like- i thought people grew out of eczema when they are babies- well i didnt. I get it really badly when i get salt water on my skin- eg go to the beach OR sweat, i also get it when i am just doing random things like washing dishes with soapy water…. Im wondering if there is a way to get rid of my eczema?

I have eczema on my feet and sometimes my hands. I fought it for 20 years with lotions and oils. Spending thousands on doctors. After a upsetting vacaition skying, my socks all bloddy and to ashamed to tell anyone I ran out in the snow barefoot crying. I stood in the snow for over a half hour. The iching went away. Today I use ice to keep it at bay and it works. Just ice, nothing else.
I have been doing this for 17 years. When I feel it coming on I put both feet in a bucket full of ice and bring the tempature of my feet down as far as possable. Then I dry my feet! Very important. To this day I never let my feet get too hot. It’s a tempature thing. Doctors are wrong on this one. Any lotions or oils will make it worse. When I used lotions or oils the blisters woule sue the moisture to make more blisters. Also the victim should NEVER scratch his or her feet or hands. Just soak in ice water. If it’s on the hands fill a ziplock with water and freeze. Hold the bag all the time. Until the bumps go away. You will be amazed how long a person with eczema can hold onto a bag of ice. Sometimes till it melts. Try that without eczema! After it goes away be sure to keep feet and hands cold and dry. Never use lotions or oils. This cure will not work if you do. The oils seem to keep the heat in the body. If your son has this on his feet watch his face when he puts his feet on ice.
Are you sure your daughter has eczema? It may be something else. If it is eczema I would start with her feet and hands. Put them in ice water. If the iching goes away, and if she keeps them in the water longer than a eczema free person would, then it’s eczema. In which case I would fix the hands and feet first and the rest of the body will follow. Don’t let her scratch herself at all. For some reason that makes it worse and more likely to re-appear. Put her in a bath of cool water, but not her feet and hands. Keep them out of the water. Hands and feet must be in cold water only. Cool water is not cold enough. You will know if it’s working by her accounts. Make sure to dry her off well and keep her cool. And keep the hands and feet cold and dry. Any warmth and I mean any, will reverse the treatment and you’ll have to start all over. Even at night her hands and feet must be cold. It takes about three weeks to work. Then a lifetime of maintenence afterwards. This works! I’m proof.

I have a small eczema spot on my finger but its really horrible looking. Sometimes i cant even use my pen.
Does drinking water help make the eczema go away?
Do You cream that can help cure it forever, and so it doesn’t come back?

for severe hand eczema? My uncle has it and the pain is excruciating and plays the trumpet, and needs to go back to playing it soon.

Am reluctant to keep using the steriod stuff because it can wreck the skin, but its all that seems to work, am really stuck for ideas.
