I am teenage girl and I have been diagnosed with eczema. I have been to the doctor twice and have been on two different strength steroids, it keeps coming back. I have done everything that the doctor has said. It goes away when I use the steroids, but it comes back whenever I have to stop. I was wondering if anyone out there knew if there were any other treatments or if it could be a different condition. The symptoms are red, patches of itchy skin along my neck and collar bone area. Thank you for the help…..

I have really sensitive skin and frequently break out with these dry itchy patches of skin from my neck and down. I absolutely hate it and it happens once every other month. I’ve been using an unscented lotion but it doesn’t really help. My doctor has put me on creams in the past but I want to try to alleviate these symptoms before I resort to asking him for the cream again (it worked but as soon as I ran out of cream, the eczema came back).
Aside from applying lotion right after a shower, what else can I do to avoid getting eczema? I am already very careful with what I eat and what I use on my body. It seems the eczema is just being triggered at random. My doctor said the trigger might just be due to the hard water where I live or the weather because I’ve eliminated pretty much every other possible cause. So any help would be appreciated to alleviate the symptoms of eczema.

I have a 6 week old that has had a rash on his face for about a week now. It doesn’t look like eczema. Its dry, red, and scaley. I wasn’t sure what to do to soothe the irritation so my mom told me to put chapstick on it. Im not sure if it helped the irritation or not. I dont think it really did anything at all. I also used some baby oil, and I don’t think that has any effect on it, good or bad. I have explain the symptoms to some people who say that when their baby had that, their Doctor told them to just leave it alone and not put anything on it and it would go away in time. Well thats all fine and dandy, but what do I do in the meantime since my poor baby is just miserable with his itchy face? Someone please help?
The reason that I know its itchy is because he vigorously rubs his face in my arm when I’m holding him and in the blanket when he’s on his belly whining and crying the whole time. If you can’t give me the help that I’m looking for than don’t leave me a comment. It’s just a waist of mine and your time.

i used steroid cream on a patch on my arm and the symptoms have went down. the problem is that my arm is quite tanned, but the part where the eczema was has now went paler than the rest of my arm due to hydrocortisone thinning the skin. i just want to ask, will the skin heal itself and go bk to its normal colour? (whether eczema comes bk or not)

I was wondering if cold-pressed olive oil can treat eczema. Just as something to soothe the symptoms. Let me know! Thanks!
By the way this for the scalp not just on the body.

Ok, so for the past four years I’ve had severe digestive problems on and off, like some months my stomach will be just fine, and then all of a sudden I’ll go through about 2 months of horrible indigestion, upset stomach, sour stomach, just horribleness. But also I get eczema flare ups along with it, like a few weeks before the stomach symptoms start, my eczema starts to flare, and then when my stomach trouble is temporarily gone..it fades away! what gives?

It isn’t itchy or red so I don’t think it’s eczema. It’s just extremely dry to the touch- other than that it has no other symptoms. It is right below my ankle bone and quite small and only about 2inchs Is it just dry skin? Or …?
