I was told this by someone biased, and was wondering if it was actually true.

It is a skin disease caused by an allergic reaction.

Ketosis or low-carb diet causes eczema/hives?

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been suffering from some sort of hives/eczema for the past few months. I have seen the dr., who couldn’t name a cause but prescribed me prednisone for immflamation. It went down, but started right back up when I finished the prescription.

I’ve kept a careful food/activity/stress journal to try and pinpoint the cause, and the ONLY consistent thing I can find is that it flares up at night, sweating can make it worse, and it gets worse the deeper in ketosis I am.

I have done low-carb for a few years now because my body is very sugar sensitive. A few days ago I went on a short junk food spree- back to eating burgers, sweets, etc, and the eczema on my forehead/around my eyes cleared up. Now I think I am in ketosis (or near) and overnight, the eczema has exploded on my face again.

Anyone have any experience with this? I really do NOT want to have to gorge myself on carbohydrates to clear my skin, I am pre-diabetic as it is, and sugar makes me slow & nearly unable to function at times.

What do I do to find treatment for my eczema?

I’m sick of my eczema and want to know what I need to do to find a treatment. Who to call or Where to go?

My friend has this condition mainly on the face and neck.

Her doctor wants her to take the immunosuppresant – Azathioprine but after doing some research and finding out what the possible side effects are such as liver failure, kidney failure, cancer etc she has refused this medication.

Her doctor has now told her that there is nothing else he can do for her.

She has been extreamly distraught today over her doctor’s prognosis.

Can anyone suggest any other alternatives?
She has already tried Chinese herbal remedies and acupuncture.

If anyone else suffers from this condition, can you please tell me how you cope with it because she is at her wits end and says that she can’t take anymore.

Thank you
She avoids dairy products and only drinks soya milk.

I’m 20 weeks pregnant and have got really bad eczema on the bit where your arm bends. Is it safe to use hydrocortisone on this?
Many Thanks

How can you control eczema around your eyes?

Every winter I get eczema around my eyes and today it is especially red and irritated. I know that is a sensitive area and normal creams and topical steroids that you would ordinarily use are not good to use near the eyes. Are there any over-the-counter creams or gels I could find to help with this? It is bothersome and unattractive. Thanks!

My 18 month old niece has a dark skin tone but her face has developed these light color patches on it.

I have heard a lot about how water softeners may help eczema and dry skin conditions. I was just curious if anyone has used a water softener, and if it helped with dry skin, hives, and/or eczema.

Thanks

My friend has this nasty thing on her neck for more than a year. Its consuming her whole neck actually. Its dry, red and scabby. I knew she went to a Doctor, they gave her this lotion but it didn’t work at all. I tried giving her cortaid, but that didn’t really work either
