What causes eczema? What can be used to get rid of it?

Also, I got some cream for it and it doesn’t work…Im staying AT a place with no access to medicine etc…the water here is very dry….What can I do???

I have severe eczema, and after an outbreak clears up I am left with very bad discoloration (the area turns very pale and white). Now I have extremely splotchy looking skin. I moisturize every day and I am very healthy. If my legs look this horrible at the age of 14, I am afraid of what they will look like when I am older! What can I do to fix this?

My 8 month old baby girl has moderate to sever eczema; her skin does okay most of the time because I keep it moisturized but sometimes her face breaks out really badly and it seems no matter what i do or what I use nothing soothes her. I know that almost anything can cause a flare up but I dont know what breaks her out so badly at certain times or how to soothe her, my mom says its our cat. What do you think?

I always put lotion on as soon as I get out of the shower, but I still have really dry, itchy skin and patches of eczema.

Do you have any suggestions?

my 3 months old got eczema on his face, especially around his eyes, doc prescribe 1% cortisone, but is it safe to use on his face? what cream is the best for his eyes area?

Its a serious problem and its only getting worse, i went to a dermatologist and got some cream no help there, then i went to wallgreens for some cortaid( friends said it worked)well it did’nt and i have no other place to go. My health is great I don’t eat junk food or anything like that, but this dang eczema won’t go away i even take fish oil capsules daily. This problem makes me crazy. How in the world do you cure this if i tried almost everything. I heard people cure it through health, but what does that mean? any remedies with immediate results? I just played basketball outside and i sweated a whole lot( i know sweat can be one of the causes) and in that short time my spots got bigger, so there has to be a way to have it subside just as fast as it grew on me. these spots are on my back and starting to grow on my face….

I have horrible eczema on my arm. It is driving me insane. I take a daily antihistamine, and I moisturize constantly. I don’t use soaps or lotions that are scented. I’m doing all of the "right" things, but it isn’t going away.

I recently moved, and I discovered that no one in my area takes my medical insurance…thus no prescription steroid creams for me. The OTC steroid creams don’t work at all.

Does anyone have ANY suggestions?
