I have really bad eczema and I don’t have insurance or anything for that matter…lotion usually keeps it under control but in the winter it gets worse. I would like to find a cheap, very very moisturizing lotion for my skin. Or even something I can take or eat to help the matter.

Our family doctor prescribed hydrocortisone for my daughter (she’s 3 going on 4 in January) to treat her eczema. She gets it quite badly about 2x per year – on her arms, legs and sometimes on her stomach. The pharmacist just cautioned me about not using the hydrocortisone too much on her – why would that be? Is it a steroid?

During my research,I found that the oral method isn’t approved by the U.S.,and that some websites say that the cream can cause burning and more irritation. My youngest child has severe eczema.Anyone have info on this before I choose a different medicine for him? His pediatrician doesn’t have an opinion on the drug.

i went to the doc today and she diagnosed my condition as a mild form of eczema. Its mainly the skin on both my palm peeling off, and little bumps appearing in between fingers. she prescribed me with elomet cream to be applied twice daily. is there any food in particular that i have to avoid to help it heal faster?:) thanks!

Hello all, recently my dreaded eczema (hope that’s spelled right) has returned, on my hands, feet and eyelids, oddly.
Can anyone recommend me some good creams? It’s driving me mad!
Thanks very much!
OK thanks everyone, I’ll probably get down to the doctors, I didn’t expect this many people to suffer from it!
Thanks again.
Sounds interesting, Debbie. I might give that a shot. Cheers.

We just took my baby to the doctor, and he has eczema. The doctor gave him cortisone for his face, a different stronger steroid cream for his body, and told me to wash him with warm water, no soap except on his bottom, and load him down with eucerin cream. hopefully this will work. I was just curious to see what other mommies do for their little ones who have eczema. Any tricks that you have found helpful in addition to what my doc recommended? Thanks to everyone!!

What season seems to produce the least amount of breakouts on your skin? Also, I’ve noticed that whenever I get in chlorinated water my eczema seems to almost disappear, has anyone else ever experienced this?
What treatments have you used, and what have you seen to be the best treatment/medicine for this skin rash?
Also, what causes eczema?
